Plantar Fasciitis Stretches – Planter Fasciitis Stretching Exercises

The plantar fascia runs along the sole of your foot right down to your heel, and is a thick fibrous band. When this becomes inflamed then it can cause tremendous amounts of pain and inconvenience, because literally your mobility can be taken away overnight. The condition that you suffer from when this happens is called Plantar Fasciitis, and there are a number of ways that people can treat plantar fasciitis effectively, one of which is by using plantar fasciitis stretches.

Plantar Fasciitis Stretches

Here are two different stretching techniques that you can use in the treatment of your Plantar Fasciitis.

Plantar Fasciitis Stretching Exercise One:

Firstly you would kneel down on one of your feet and leverage your body weight so that it is tilted forward. You should be able to feel the arch of your foot being stretched if you do this right. You should not be overly aggressive with the movements here, because the aim is not to break, tear or strain anything. You simply are aiming to stretch the tendons of your ankles and foot a little. And for this to be really effective you need to do these plantar fasciitis stretching exercises regularly, so that very gradually the flexibility in your tendons improves.

Plantar Fasciitis Stretching Exercise Two:

In this second exercise again you would kneel down, but this time don’t kneel all the way down to the floor, but rather move the knee that is closest to the ground  forward whilst keeping your toes on the ground. The best way to achieve the stretch that you want is to arch your foot and to lever your body weight forward.

You will find that both of these foot pain stretches will not only help to increase the mobility and flexibility in your arches, but gradually over time help to lessen the pain.
